Director of Admissions (MHSA)

The Director of Admissions is responsible for all aspects of the admissions process, including developing and implementing recruitment strategies, shepherding students through the admissions process, facilitating and participating in candidate interviews, tracking and reviewing candidate applications, generating final admissions decisions, recruiting newly admitted students to enroll, and engaging in effective community outreach to expand the Program’s excellent rotation in throughout the State of Alabama and Georgia.

 

Salary Range:  $60,000 - $65,000

Pharmacology Faculty

Job Summary: 

To educate medical students in Pharmacology across a two-year preclinical curriculum, to conduct research and scholarly activity, and to provide service to the institution. 

Salary: $ 100,000 - $140,000

Required Qualifications: 

  • Education: PharmD, preferably with residency training, or PhD in Pharmacology with post-doctoral training. Other PharmD with teaching and research experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Three to five years of teaching /research experience, preferably at the graduate level; broad-based background in pharmacology; publication(s) in peer-reviewed journal(s) preferred.

Program Faculty

Job Summary: 

Teach all assigned coursework to Anesthesiologist Assistant students and actively participate in curriculum development in collaboration with the Dean; develop, teach, monitor, and evaluates courses in the basic science, clinical, and simulation/skills development aspects of the graduate program; act as a resource for professional and community connections for personal and professional development; act as an academic adviser for the students and mentor for the comprehensive examinations; remain current in professional area of interest and participate in professional societies and activities, participate in all assigned, required, as well as other related professional services and activities in the MHSA Program.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000

Required Qualifications: 

Education: Completion of an accredited program in Anesthesiologist Assistant or Nurse Anesthesia, master’s degree or higher, with relevant experience in teaching.

Licensure: Professional certification as an Anesthesiologist Assistant through the National Commission for the Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) or National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA); valid professional state license in good standing. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in anesthesiology or closely related field
  • Teaching experience at the graduate or undergraduate level
  • Organizational committee participation
  • A record of community experience
  • Ability to mentor students

Admissions Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Admissions Coordinator will assist in all stages of the application process, from participating in off-campus and on-campus recruitment activities, to applicant interview days, and providing tours of ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ and Auburn University campuses.  They will give presentations; process admissions applicant files; update applicant statuses in admissions software; maintain organized and confidential applicant information, and interface with other departments within ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ. In addition, they will assist the Director of Admissions with all daily activities, special projects, and perform various administrative duties. This position is the front-line contact for admissions of ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ- Auburn and as such the candidate must be a superior communicator. 

Salary Range:  $40,000 - $45,000

Required Qualifications: 

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Licensure or certification: Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience:
  1. Superior communication skills – needs to make presentations, communicate face- to-face, via telephone, and in written forms with prospective students, current students, staff, faculty, and other constituencies in a professional and respectful manner
  2. Highly organized and detail orientated
  3. Ability to interact with and develop strong relationships with a variety of individuals, groups, and institutions
  4. Ability to maintain a positive and fresh approach and attitude
  5. Commitment to confidentiality
  6. Willingness to attend special events as needed (on and off campus) for recruitment of new students or obtain continuing education
  7. Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, basic design software, and the ability to learn new computer programs as needed
  8. Flexibility and willing to perform multiple tasks as they arise
  9. Ability to problem solve, think and act quickly
  10. Ability to work in an environment with multiple daily interruptions.
  11. Previous recruitment experience preferred.
