The discipline of Internal Medicine at ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ is committed to the College's mission to provide medical education and research that prepares globally minded, community-focused osteopathic physicians and improves the health of those most in need. The program's goal is to promote the career of internal medicine in the Appalachian region. To do this, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ wants to provide unsurpassed clinical instruction in community-based osteopathic internal medicine, raise the standard of healthcare delivery in affiliated teaching medical institutions, and perform clinical research that will improve the health of our patients.
³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ's internal medicine faculty are passionate about medicine and medical education. These skilled physicians work with medical students in ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ-affiliated teaching hospitals, practicing primary care internal medicine, hospital medicine, and a full range of sub-specialties. Sharing the College's mission and leading by example, members of our faculty provide volunteer care for underserved patients in the local free clinics and international medical mission trips.
